The Gridset team has some big news. As of today, Mark Boulton Design Ltd, makers of the Gridset responsive layout tool, has been acquired by Monotype. For Gridset this will be the start of an exciting new period in its development. As part of Monotype, our team will be working on a broad range of tools and services that intersect with two of the most important fields of design: web design and typography. But more importantly for you, we will be spending much more time building features and making better tools for your web design workflow. You can find more information on the acquisition in Monotype’s press release.
What this means for you
Your work will be still be available in Gridset. There is no plan to wind down Gridset at this time. If we decide that is the best course of action, we will give you at least 30 days notice and a simple way to export your Gridset assets.
We have started an FAQ page which we will continue to update as questions are raised, and feel free to email us at email@example.com with any questions or concerns. Also, please note that our Terms and Conditions have been updated to reflect these recent changes.
Tools for a more creative web
We built early versions of Gridset to help our own team provide better work for our clients, but we launched it as a tool to help other teams across the web industry benefit from the lessons we’ve learned. Now, with our new-found resources as part of Monotype, we’ll broaden that goal to improve modern web design processes in meaningful, insightful ways, with your needs continuing to guide us.
Thank you for your support over the past two years. We are thrilled about this opportunity to build better web design tools for you and your team!
